Coding in the Night

I have this project which has been a thorn in my side for about 3 years now. Exteremely boring at this point, and getting quite large. I have to finish it because otherwise there will be trouble, and I have been having problems getting around to it. However now I have taken the proper measures and my coding efficiency has increased to about 84%, which is pretty darn good for me. Usually its around 12% or so.

Read on to find out how you can too! ;)
The solution is really quite simple, I invited a friend of mine who is also a programmer and worked at the same company as me for about a year, to stay at my place until the project is done.

While he isnt exactly efficiency itself, and enjoys a good Deep Space 9 episode as much as anyone, his presence here has enabled me to tap my untapped coding potential and I have finally been able to move forward. With him doing part of the project, my load has also lessened, and I finally have someone I can ask for advice in realtime. Before, I could spend several hours trying to decide what to call a variable… Often the result was disastrous due to overthinking.

So once again I am a vampire, except its kinda even more warped. I go to bed at around 6pm or so, and wake up at 2am. The whole thing also seems to shift a few hours every night, so by tonight I shall be sleeping at 8pm or later. This might actually be good, because if I am able to stop the shift at midnight or so, I’ll be set to a normal schedule and can finally interract with real people during normal hours.

Wow.

And once this project is finished, I can finally move on with my life. Although I’ve been extremely bad at working on it, it does not mean I have been doing other stuff because I was always kinda planning to work on it etc. So once it is done, I will be almost literally like removing a thorn from my side.

A whole new world awaits!
