Yesterday me and my best friend Fred somehow got into a discussion about Miami, he does some business there and suddenly the idea was concieved that a trip is in order. Less then an hour later the tickets were booked, and on friday we leave for warm and sunny Miami.
Fred is starting a company to sell spare parts for certain US-made cars in Sweden. He already buys parts from a company based in Miami, and in order to seal his deal with them for even MORE parts he thought it would be best to fly down and meet the crew. Of course, such a deal could easilly have been made over the phone, and Miami’s 25 degrees celsius (as opposed to the 4 degrees here in Stockholm) had of course nothing to do with his decision ![]()
Being the great friend that I am, I agreed, albeit reluctantly to come along. Ok, maybe not reluctantly ;). So tomorrow we set course for Miami, and we’ll be staying for a week.
I have only been in the US once, 6 years ago, and that was New York, and I was a kid going through my teen-revolution. Thus I can safely say that I did not fully experience all that city or country had to offer. I intend to make this trip more interesting.
One could say that this trip marks a new beginning in my life. For the past few years I have been rather immobile, my travels have been limited and I have not really done anything interesting except boring programming jobs. However recently I have found new energy which has allowed me to take new steps and create interesting ideas that will perhaps end this drugdery that has been my companion for the past few years.
I do hope my (brand new!) Powerbook 12″ comes back from service before I leave. Otherwise I shall have to blog about my experiences from a good old Powerbook G3 500mhz. Bleh. I want my chunk of aluminium goodness.
Either way, I look forward to it and I am already planning my next trip, to Japan which will probably take place sometime this spring or maybe even earlier. Although spontaneous trips like this are always the most fun, so we’ll see how that turns out, but more on that later.
I still need to do the damn layout for the site… It’s been over 2 years since I worked on designing an HTML page…So long ago.
Hi Dimo!
First of all, congrats on the trip. Fred just told me about it. I am so jealous of you both. It sounds like great fun!
Second, you do NOT have to do anything about the design of this page, IMHO. It is just fine, really clean and elegant! Leave it at that!
Yo,
Thanks, I can’t wait to go.

As for the page, I agree its a very nice and clean design, unfortunately it is also the default design for the blogging software, and I could not live with myself if I did not at least change the colors and layout a littlebit
Don’t worry I intend to keep it just as clean as it is now, but at least minor changes should be implemented.
Heh. OK. I see! Remember to buy me some Highland Park scotch & Pall Mall Mild in the tax free
Bastard…. i hate you… so very, very much. I hate you….
ok.. well maybe not. Congratz on the trip!!!
<– cough!! sniffle…
Bwahahah
But hey, you can escort Darth Vader in a shiny white stormtrooper uniform… That makes us even right? Right?
